About Us

CASK has progressed from a club that was focused mostly on recreational paddles, to a club which also seeks to develop the skills and camaraderie of its members through day trips, skills clinics, and extended trips. Kayak safety, education, and skills development are CASK priorities.

We continue to offer recreational and ‘family paddles,’ along with our more challenging open-water trips. We also partner with our Outer Banks and Eastern Shore neighbors to do occasional joint paddling trips.

During 2004, CASK worked hard to provide an exciting and fun year in the sport of sea kayaking. In addition to our regular paddles, we led day trips and skill-building clinics. Click on the “Trips & Events” link and go to “Trip Reports” to sample the club’s activities in 2004.

In 2005, we plan to have an equally ambitious schedule, with outings and events on tap almost every other weekend during the season, and with a few extra surprises thrown in for fun! More and more folks are joining the sport, and interest is growing in the Tidewater area. CASK, with its friendly atmosphere and active program of paddles and instruction welcomes you!

Click on the “Trips & Events” link to see what’s coming up, and we hope you will consider joining us on the water!
